Food Safety And Quality

NIGTA collaborates and networks with partners in the food chain to build consumer confidence in the quality of food produced in Northern Ireland.

Environmental Sustainability

NIGTA encourages and assists the food industry to make use of opportunities for higher standards in agricultural practices, to ensure that NI maintains its green image for food production and its environmental assets.

Doing Business Efficiently

NIGTA will lobby on behalf of the industry to achieve the most favourable economic conditions for the production of NI food. It will also address the pressures facing members' businesses in order to promote their place as major players in the food chain.

NI Agriculture In Europe And Beyond

NIGTA has strong links with parent trade associations in the UK and Europe, through which it can have an input for lobbying and developing policies. NIGTA is directly represented on all relevant committees.

Collaboration In The Food Chain

NIGTA provides the facts from the agricultural supply industry to influence and develop future policy and innovation in the NI food chain and will contribute the expertise of its members to ensure safe, wholesome food produced in an environmentally friendly manner. It will continue to facilitate and monitor quality control schemes in the agricultural supply industry and will help at all times to make the public more aware of the quality of locally produced food.
